Synopsis[]

Blaine Butler has just been accepted into the college of his dreams. He is anxious to leave the yelling and screaming of his dysfunctional family, and it is established that his parents resent him for being homosexual.

Blaine’s plans are stopped short when a mysterious man shows up on the morning that he’s leaving for school. The man activates a red Glyph on his right forearm, thus giving him temporary super strength, and literally pulls Blaine away from his house and into a weird car with square wheels. The man is introduced as an interdimensional bounty hunter by the name of Guy Contact. He insists that he was sent to pick up Blaine as his apprentice, but it becomes clear that there was a mix-up and Guy was given the wrong coordinates.

Blaine soon discovers that the world is not what everyone on Earth assumes to be true--in reality, Earth is just one dimension of countless others. The epicenter in which all interdimensional travel goes through is a placid, overcast world called the Mediomension, or just Medio for short. Guy works for Senior Officer James Woot at the Interdimensional Coalition Federation (or ICF).

Blaine joins Guy as he searches for a mysterious and dangerous entity called, "The Most Wanted;" a strange, hooded entity who has been showing up when people die.

They travel to many different dimensions, where they meet dryads and Feebo.

Guy lives in the Medio with his friends Eileen and Molly DeVosh. Eileen is burdened by crippling depression, which Molly is desperate to solve. There is much tension over Molly's determination to see The Universal Power, which their friends insist is a bad idea.

Blaine must learn to cope with being torn away from his family and start anew in the reality of the multiverse.
